Felt hungry again, so headed towards the station. Got myself a chicken katsu curry from CoCo Ichibanya outside Takaido Station, for ¥780 (¥700 for curry, extra ¥80 for extra chilli). I meant to take a photo for you, but I was so hungry and distracted that I just ate it and dashed.

I forgot my cigarettes at home, but figured it was about time to get a pack anyway. At 7-11, it cost me ¥440 for a pack of Marlboro Ice Mints, which is less than half the price of an Australian equivalent… Sat in a park, smoking and still trying to figure out what to do with the sim card…

#Travelers note: If there are painted signs on the ground that appear to be “No Smoking” signs, don’t smoke while walking in that area. If you see a 4 digit number somewhere on the sign, either followed by ? or preceded by ¥, that 4 digit number is the on-the-spot fine that you will be asked to pay if caught. Depending on the officer who apprehends you, the stock-standard “I’m foreign so I disn’t knowwww…” may not work here.

After calling Sagawa (the courier company) and finding that they were, in fact, closed (but the site says 24 hours! What the hell!) I decided that it might be best to call it a night.

Back at the guest room, I realised that they don’t supply towels. Damn it. Feeling far too lazy (and cheap – let’s not forget the point of this blog), I ended up drying myself with a pyjama shirt. Now I have to find something to sleep in…

Bathroom facilities very pleasant here. I showered, changed and promptly fell asleep.
