We arrived in Kansai, Japan after a hellish 10 hour flight in which I had a combined total of 1 hour of sleep. What’s the first thing one does after getting out of the airport? Buy cigarettes and cellphone credit. We went over to the connecting train station and after taking a long look at the train map, we decided to just ask the people which train to take.

1090 yen and at least an hour later, we arrived in the changeover station, Namba (think Strathfield). We changed trains (whilst getting lost once again) to go to Honmachi station. Upon arriving, in order to scunge 200 yen we decided to walk the 10 minutes down the one road towards our apartment.

That would have been fine, except we found out after walking for 10 minutes whilst pulling heavy-ass luggage, that we were going the wrong way. Fuck.

Anyway, after redirecting ourselves a few times, we got to our apartment and as expected, the key was in the mailbox. What was NOT expected was the lack of pillows, towels, slippers, etc. etc. Feeling slightly disappointed at the otherwise very modern apartment, we left for dinner.

June must have wanted to kill me, because by the time we got to Dotombori (eating street) in Namba, most stores were closed. We ended up settling with Yoshinoya for dinner, and then we went for a walk towards Don Quijote to buy an airbed.

We ended up with a lot more than an airbed when we left…

We decided to waste some time at McDonalds; June and Laura split a Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry whilst I went for a large fries. I love indoor smoking… <3

Afterwards, we took the taxi home which only cost 500 yen – so worth it.

It occurred to me at showertime that I’d forgotten both my towel (seeing as the apartment didn’t have any……) and my pyjamas. So my first night I spent freaking freezing my ass off. Oh never again…

Hope you’re all well =D
