I’m incapable of arriving places on time. Completely incapable. Yesterday included. And it doesn’t help when you get distracted as you leave the house.
Yumiko called me JUST as I was about to leave, and I had to call her back as for me – receiving calls costs money (I hate international roaming.) Turns out she has 2 spare tickets to the BoA concert in Saitama tonight and she wanted me to go except the tickets were $68…
I don’t particularly WANT to spend $68 on something after my $250 CD incident. (No regrets though !!)
So anyway eventually I ran out and jumped onto the first train passing through Nakano-Sakaue. Got to Ogikubo, changed and went straight to Kichijoji – where, looking somewhat like a man on a mission, I blazed down the stairs and through the gates and right past Saya and Mizuki who had been waiting for me.
“WHOA omg you arrived… about time…”
So we walked around Kichijoji for a bit. It hit me – although I thought I hadn’t been there before, Kichijoji was my first taste of Tokyo – it was the first place I went to that made me love Tokyo. How funny is it that I didn’t even remember being there! Ahhh… 2005.
After wondering where we would eat and seeing nothing but a Saizeriya in the distance, we took a few shortcuts and landed at “Gasuto”, which I soon found out is yet another family restaurant that looks and tastes very very similar to the others. They’re all run by the same company or something, I believe.
After dinner we sat around talking and then eventually we got hungry again so we ordered dessert (yea, we were in there for around 3 hours?) Finished dessert, then went out and took some purikura photos. 🙂
We ended up talking for another 45 minutes or so whilst standing right outside the station. Really interesting conversation… haha. We’ve made plans to go to Chiba Prefecture (e.g. leave Tokyo) for a few hours on Saturday. Let’s see how that turns out!! 🙂
